Baptism, Christening, Thanksgiving for Childbirth
Baptism is something we take seriously at Lakes. For child baptism, we require the parents to make faith statements, not only for the themselves but also for and on behalf of the child. Questions of faith are asked about the parents belief in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We ask them if they renounce all that is evil. These are serious questions, not to be taken lightly.
The concept of answering for and on behalf of the child is so that they will be raised to know about God and His promise made through Christ Jesus. For this reason, all baptisms take place during our 9:30am Sunday service on the SECOND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH.
We ask of all families to come to regular Sunday services at 9:30am leading up to the day of the baptism to know who we are and to meet the church family in which the child is being baptised as a member.
For adult baptisms, the faith statements confirmed during the service are to be understood and owned, prior to the day of baptism.
Preparation sessions are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 11am or the 1st Monday at 7.30pm. Please contact us via the link provided for more details.
